This house for a retired couple is situated on a garden home lot which faces a golf course. The design problem focused on how to provide natural light to the interior spaces while privatizing the exterior spaces on this small lot with many existing trees. The solution incorporates an entry courtyard of tall pines, a meditative courtyard bounded by the Living Room, Kitchen and the Master Bedroom, a covered back porch which focuses on the golf course, and a second level balcony.
